Mission01

Helping people to help themselves

Is the guiding principle of Rethink! Wherever we can empower people to stand up for themselves, society and the habitat earth, we want to do so. Therefor we create the optimal conditions and develop the necessary tools.

Mission02

Making knowledge available to all

Rethink! wants to create a uniform interface to the entire knowledge of this world and, wherever possible, make this knowledge available free of charge. If not possible, micropayment (see mission 9) will be used to create low-cost access. The goal is to create a global knowledge database that supports education and research worldwide. Whether non-fiction books, technical papers or educational broadcasts, everything should be findable and retrievable through this database.

Mission03

Rethink education for all

Rethink! wants to make education accessible to all, free of charge or at cost price, and empower them to use their potential to the full. This is to specifically promote self-determination and self-realization for all people. In this way, talents will be recognized and equal opportunities will be realized. For this purpose, Rethink! creates the appropriate platform and commits to first-class educational content. We thus specifically promote integral and interdisciplinary thinking.

Mission04

Making full use of potentials and synergies

We want to connect people and companies in a new way. Our instruments therefor are called idea pool, talent pool, capital pool and mediator pool. In these pools, we want to match the various players with each other and thus release potential and exploit synergies. The linchpin for this is our competence matrix.

Mission05

New technologies demand a rethink

New technologies bring possibilities and problems, opportunities and risks. Rethink! wants to promote the adaptation of technologies to humans and bring forward the discourse for a responsible use of technologies. Whether in the social, governmental, legal, economic, ecological or other spheres. Through this, we want to put society in the driver’s seat of the technology train.

Mission06

Taking Responsibility for entrepreneurship and innovation

Within this mission, Rethink! promotes structural change and progress to address the challenges humanity faces. We are committed to removing barriers and obstacles for entrepreneurship and innovation so that people are empowered to generate added value for society from their own efforts, thus making them more independent from existing power structures.

Mission07

«Common Company», the new entrepreneurship

Rethink! wants to establish the «Common Company» in order to put entrepreneurship in the interest of the general public. The primary goals are fair working conditions, high quality products and services, and the responsible interaction with society and nature, rather than sheer profit maximization. In this way, we actively combat exploitation, social inequality, injustice, abuse of power and corruption, environmental pollution, species extinction and the climate crisis.

Mission08

Moving money & taxes into a social and ecological future

The existing system has serious flaws, is too complex and not up to date. Rethink! proposes to establish a unified, global monetary and fiscal system featuring a universal, digital single currency as well as transaction- and asset-based taxes instead of the existing ones. This should be achieved by means of highly efficient and fully automated payment and tax systems.

Mission09

Micropayment opens up new opportunities

Rethink! considers micropayment to be the financing tool of the future to support content from authors in various media via the crowd. With one click, a micro payment may be made to support a YouTube video or a blog, for example. We believe this is a way to reward quality and support good content in a selective way. Likewise, small donations to non-profit organizations will be possible, without disproportionate fees. Micropayment will also enable easier access to knowledge (cf. Mission 2).

Mission10

Re-establish charitable work

We want to make community service mandatory in order to integrate it comprehensively and sustainably into the reality of people’s lives. Rethink! believes that thereby we can address issues that are otherwise neglected and create added value for society and the planet. The goal is to enhance awareness of the population for social challenges and environmental protection issues. Everyone can contribute to a better future and provide satisfaction, a sense of community and responsibility. Therefor Rethink! wants to build the purposeful platform.

Mission11

Don’t gamble with housing

Scarce and expensive housing should become a yesterdays reality. Rethink! is committed to changing the general conditions in such a way that everyone can afford housing that suits their needs, and that this housing is preserved in the long term. We want to promote the allocation of affordable housing, thereby mitigating social hotspots and minimizing vacancies. Rethink! wants to offer the discussion platform and provide proposals in this respect.

Mission12

Economic growth and retirement provision

Rethink! wants to point out that economic growth is not an absolute necessity for a qualitative development for the better. We examine which factors unnecessarily increase economic growth pressure, which factors can reduce it, and what other effects economic growth can have. We also want to reflect on retirement provision, with the aim of separating it from economic pressure towards growth and taking into account demographic shifts. We propose to take a broader approach in this respect compared with what has been done so far.

Mission13

Put an end to turbo consumption and the bargain society

Rethink! strives to eliminate false incentives in consumption and to re-establish a sane understanding for the value of goods and services in the long term. This not only benefits individuals, but also protects the environment from the consequences of excessive consumption. Here we would like to educate and bring about a change of mentality.

Mission14

The end of throwaway society

With four institutions, Rethink! wants to herald the end of throwaway society. In „Repair Centers“, everyday objects are to be quickly and inexpensively put back into working order. The „25-year repair guarantee“ helps to achieve this by setting new standards for the manufacturing and design of products. This will increase the quality and robustness as well as the durability of products. In „Rental Centers“, objects can be rented at low cost for a specific use. And large-scale „Secondhand Centers“ are intended to halt today’s throwaway mentality.

Mission15

Stop greenwashing

Rethink! appeals to those companies that give themselves a green image without really reducing their ecological footprint. We want pure labeling and corresponding marketing measures to be unmasked. We advocate for a real and sustainable decarbonization of the economy and ensure that climate protection does not degenerate into mere business.

Mission16

Preserve resources through consolidation and standardization

We promote uniformity and modularity in products and thus want to help create new standards that are resource-efficient and durable. Our means of achieving this are open-source and «Common Innovation» (see Mission 17). Planned obsolescence should be exposed and eliminated. Discard and waste should be reduced to an absolute minimum. The same applies to redundancies in research and development. To this end, Rethink! promotes worldwide dialogue and the elaboration of best practices. Identical or similar products should be produced in building block systems.

Mission17

The future is «Common Innovation»!

This mission is like the core of Rethink! Inspired by the success of open-source, we believe collaborative innovation, producing software and products that are freely available for worldwide use, is the future of development. Algorithms, manufacturing processes, recipes, medicines, building materials, etc. would thus be redesigned in global collaboration and then implemented by the best ventures. The six goals of «Common Innovation» are: Access, Improvement, Collaboration, Standardization, Simplification and Sustainability. Our repository always contains the world’s leading manufacturing guide for any software or product. «Common Innovation» streamlines and democratizes the manufacturing process, preserves resources and thus reduces the environmental impact.

Mission18

Rethink patent law and intellectual property rights

Rethink! considers these property rights appropriate where innovation, research and development really benefit from them or where the means of existence of authors, artists, musicians, etc. are secured. The disposition of these rights, however, should be restricted in such a way that no compliant business may be done with them. In general, Rethink! advocates that achievements under patent law or intellectual property rights should be available for free use by the general public within the shortest possible period of time.

Mission19

«Common Data» – data collection ahoy

We are in favor of making the collection of data accessible to the general public. Thus, we want manufacturers to not only query their customers about collecting proprietary data but also to have to list an option for collecting «Common Data» in the future. With the data collected, Rethink! wants to address non-profit issues. For example, promoting equal opportunities, enabling the early detection of diseases, preventing accidents and identifying climate offenders.

Mission20

Microhurting kills us

Rethink! thinks that healthy living is a human right. And we do not consider health as the mere absence of disease. The focus therefore has to be on everyday contaminants that we are exposed to in micro quantities; through air, water, food and topical products. Influences which are significantly linked to the pathogenesis of cancer, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other diseases. But also in mental health, which is influenced by living conditions and strains, we experience microhurting on a daily basis. Rethink! wants to identify, address and ban these, in sum dangerous, influences. Not least by collecting data (see Mission 19), we can sustainably shape our quality of life and improve long-term health. Microhurting ought to be on the agenda of companies and policymakers.

Mission21

Rethinking healthcare

We are in favor of health insurance for all, as well as a health care system that is open to all. Rethink! stands for an effective health care system that is not only profit-oriented. Furthermore, the awareness for one’s own health and the health of fellow humans should be enhanced. We demand health managers and the collection of data before a person becomes a patient. Here too, we suggest the collaborative approach.

Mission22

Daycare Plus

Rethink! supports comprehensive and cost-free external childcare which our society can afford. Children of all ages should be welcome here. Be it because the parents are at work, need a break or the child feels uncomfortable at home. Thus, these daycare centers would also be the first point of contact in case of family problems for the weakest in such a conflict, namely the children.

Mission23

Rethinking agriculture and food production

We want food producers to become aware of their responsibility, farmers to be offered real alternatives and biodiversity to be enhanced. To achieve this mission, however, Rethink! relies on strong partners, as these issues are not part of our core competencies.

Mission24

Mobility is out of control

Rethink! believes that the expansion of individual mobility has become the number one climate killer. Be it by car or by plane. Public transport and electromobility do not meet the demands either, using today’s power generation. We think that less mobility will be required in the future. If we really want to achieve our climate goals, we think that a mobility quota per person will be part of the solution.

Mission25

Democracy must grow up

We promote elements of direct and deliberative democracy and strive to rid democracy of a power-hungry and populist political elite. In our form of democracy, the people’s welfare, reason, responsibility and independence are paramount; lived by mature, healthy, educated, free, independent, reasonable, content, self-sustaining, eco-protective, tolerant, future-proof, resilient and peaceful citizens.

Mission26

Time to think and reflect

Rethink! aims to institutionalize time to think and reflect and make it available to people in order to cultivate a natural connection to oneself, one’s fellow humans, and nature. More time to think and reflect will help you to cope with life’s various challenges and make better decisions. – Give yourself that Rethink! moment.
